The Hair Diet

Pre-Raphaelite Hair. "Lady Lilith" by Rossetti

That "balanced diet" just keeps coming up as the answer to everything. Good nutrients boost the strength of each new strand of hair follicle, your skin and your vitality. "Healthier follicles? Healthier hair. Healthier scalp? Healthier hair!" says New York City dermatologist Cybele Fisham, MD.

1. Salmon (+ other fish with essential fatty acids like sardines and herrings. Hello Sweden. Rollmop anyone?)
2. Valnuts, darling (the only nut with Omega-3 are walnuts. They are said to even look like the brain....)
3. Zinc (found in oysters, nuts, beef and eggs)
4. Beta Carotene (this antioxidant is big in sweet potatoes)
5. Eggs (loaded with 4 key minerals: zinc, selenium, sulfur and iron).
6. Lentils
7. Spinach
8. Vitamin C (in powder form = excellent, or via blueberries, kiwi fruit, tomatoes, strawberries)
9. Greek Yoghurt low fat (high in B5, vitamin D and hair friendly protein).
10. Speaking of protein, eat chicken or lean meats.
