A very expensive sculpture.

In case you hadn't heard, the life-size sculpture to the right called "L'Homme Qui Marche 1" (aka Walking Man) shaped by the famous hands of Giacometti was sold at a recent Sotheby's auction for 65 million pounds (about $US104 million). Completed 5 years before his death, in 1961, Giacometti's statue of wiry solitude in an age of existentialism took only 8 minutes for an anonymous telephone bidder to land THE MOST EXPENSIVE ART EVER SOLD AT AUCTION.

I was searching for hit songs during the time Giacometti was moulding and creating the rough finishes of his masterpiece and found "Apache" recorded by The Shadows in 1960 at EMI Abbey Road Studio in London.

Can't be quite sure Giacometti ever heard this song, but I think the sound and the statue are a good fit.
